Chop A Forest Solo vs Friends: Do Both Save Your Run Progress?
Both solo runs and friend runs are available in Chop A Forest, and the developer's description says both save. Here's what that means for your progress.
Yes — both solo runs and friend runs are available in Chop A Forest, and the developer's description says both save. Picking one arrangement over the other doesn't put your run progress at risk.
What the game actually promises
The official description by developer WCT Capital names the two run arrangements and dedicates one line to them: "SOLO & FRIEND RUNS SAVE!" You can chop on your own or in a run with friends, and both are meant to keep what you earn.
The description doesn't explain how the save is structured — whether solo and friend play share one save or track progress separately per arrangement isn't stated. Read the line as a guarantee that each arrangement saves, not as confirmation that everything pools together when you switch between them. If you plan to alternate between the two, a quick check of your Coins and tools after your first session in each arrangement shows how your progress is being tracked.

The loop you run
The description names one loop: break trees to collect logs, sell the logs to earn Coins, use the Coins to buy and upgrade tools, then repeat. It gives no separate solo or friend variant of that loop.
In game, hold Space to chop trees, sell your logs at a sell point, and press Tab to open the upgrade menu.
Solo is a normal way to play, too: one recorded playthrough started with party size set to one and ran the whole session alone.
Solo or friends?
For progress, either choice is safe — the saving statement covers both arrangements. Play alone or clear the forest with friends however you prefer.
If you're just starting out, the beginner guide covers the basics, how to sell logs explains the Coin half of the loop, and the save progress page goes deeper on keeping your run.
