How to Get Tools in Chop A Forest (and Afford Your First Axe)
Tools in Chop A Forest are bought with Coins at the in-game tool shop. Learn the chop-sell-buy loop, earn 150 Coins, and buy your first axe.
Tools in Chop A Forest are bought with Coins at the in-game tool shop, and every Coin starts as a tree: you break trees, collect the logs, sell them, and spend the earnings on gear. On a fresh save, the first tool you buy is the axe at 150 Coins. Here is the full route, plus what else the shop stocks.

How buying tools works
Cutting tools come from the in-game tool shop, and the whole game is built around a chop-sell-buy loop. The developer's description spells it out: break trees to collect logs, sell the logs to earn Coins, use the Coins to buy tools, then push on to upgrades and the best classes and tools.
The shop's shelves mix Coin-priced tools with Robux-priced offers — one playthrough browsed past a vacuum and a Trial Saw listed in Robux. Later in one playthrough, the shop repeatedly sent notifications that new items had come in stock.
Affording and buying your first axe
You start with nothing but your fists, and they are enough:
- Punch trees until they fall. The how to chop trees guide covers the basics. Each tree drops logs you can pick up.
- Collect the logs and sell them at the sell point to turn them into Coins — see how to sell logs for the details.
- Keep the cycle going until you reach 150 Coins. Our how to get coins page has more on building your balance.
- Buy the axe at the tool shop.
That is the whole route, and the payoff is immediate: the axe cuts trees noticeably faster than punching, so logs and Coins start coming in faster too.
Two things to expect early on. In one recorded early-game session, the shop only offered the axe, and its other pages appeared empty. In that same session, the game blocked the player from switching to another biome until the current forest was finished. So stay in your forest, keep the chop-sell-buy loop going, and the Coins stack toward your axe.
Tools you can buy with Robux
Alongside the Coin shop, the game also sells tools directly for Robux. Public Roblox data sampled on 12 October 2026 listed these options:
| Item | Type | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Axe - One Run | Developer product | 19 Robux |
| Trial Saw (5 min) | Developer product | 25 Robux |
| Vacuum - One Run | Developer product | 39 Robux |
| Chainsaw - One Run | Developer product | 49 Robux |
| Dynamite - One Run | Developer product | 49 Robux |
| Axe Forever | Game pass | 79 Robux |
| Vacuum Forever | Game pass | 199 Robux |
| Chainsaw Forever | Game pass | 249 Robux |
| Dynamite Forever | Game pass | 249 Robux |
| Clawman Class | Game pass | 1,499 Robux |
The sample itself warns that prices and products can change, so treat the table as a snapshot rather than a guarantee. None of it is required either: the chop-sell-buy loop above gets you your first axe without spending a single Robux.
Beyond the first axe
The shop stocks more than the starter axe. Dynamite, a tree-destroying item, was displayed at 2,500 in the same shop where the axe costs 150. Once the axe is paid off, the tools list and tool progression pages map out the rest of the lineup as you unlock later stages.
